Taxes on books to the USA

We had previously announced that all books sent to the USA would be subjected to import taxes as per the recent executive order. We have since received clarification that books are exempt under Annex II, code 49019900.

When shipping parcels to the USA, we will make every effort to ensure they are clearly identifiable as books, and they should therefore be exempt from import taxes. We have no control over the enforcement of these fees, but if you order a book to the USA and are requested to pay import tax on it, the above exemption code may be of use if you choose to contact customs.
