Submitting papers to Analecta Hibernica
If you would like to submit a paper for consideration to the editor of Analecta Hibernica,
please contact Professor James Kelly, Department of History, St Patrick’s College,
Drumcondra, Dublin 9 (james.Kelly at spd.dcu.ie).
Analecta Hibernica publishes transcriptions of original manuscript sources for Irish history. The manuscript text should be prepared as an annotated transcription of the original and should be accompanied by a technical introduction. The introduction should provide a context for the manuscript being presented, locate it, describe its features, consider why it was prepared, assess what it says/contributes and should engage with other pertinent questions. The introduction usually concludes with a note describing the editorial conventions employed in presenting the manuscript.
To submit a publication proposal for larger manuscripts, please download a copy of the IMC publishing proposal form
here and return it to the
Editorial and Publications Committee by e-mailing it to email@example.com. Proposals are
reviewed by the Editorial and Publications Committee at their bi-monthly meetings and applicants will be contacted
following the conclusion of the review process.
IMC is currently preparing editorial guidelines and a style sheet. In the interim, please follow the
guidelines contained in Irish Historical Studies: rules
for contributors when preparing citations in footnotes.
