15 letters from Roger Casement, some to Mrs A W Hutton of Belfast, mainly on matters relating to the Irish language, and the promotion of Irish culture. Casement launched an appeal backed by Douglas Hyde to rebuild the National school in the Gaeltacht of Tawin on Galway Bay and employ an Irish-speaking teacher. Several references to the fight for Ireland's nationhood, ' A nation has always a right to her national life and to call on her sons to give theirs...'.
