Description

This collection mainly consists of material relating to the IRA and the republican movement, and includes correspondence between the Chief of Staff of the IRA and Cumann na mBan on various issues, including Cumann na mBan's criticism of the IRA policy and operations, specifically the destruction of property and the endangering of women and children; also relating to Cumann na mBan organisation in Athlone, together with correspondence with Dorothy Macardle on the Tragedies of Kerry and with Ella Young about Leabhar na hAiserighe; correspondence relating to Hanna Sheehy Skeffington's position as assistant editor of 'An Phoblacht' and her resignation (1933).

Also correspondence with Mary MacSwiney, Director of Publicity, Sinn Féin on various topics, including proposed lecture series and policy committee on the Constitution and with Maud Gonne McBride, White Cross.
