Convent of Mercy:

1: Convent of Mercy, Cootehill, draft [ lease] in Cootehill from the Scottish Widows Fund and Life Assurance Company and Edward Smith to Bishop Nicholas County and the Very Revd Francis O'Reilly for the purposes of establishing a convent of Mercy, 1880.

2: Copy letters from Bishop Finegan to the Revd Mother of the convent and to Rome re the amalgamation of the convents of Mercy in the diocese, 1913.

3: Papers about the revision of the constitutions of the Mercy nuns including revised constitutions, includes copies of 'A Guide to the Religious Called Sisters of Mercy' (1888), 1929-1938.

4: Correspondence between Bishop Lyons and the convents of Mercy in the diocese (Ballinamore, surgical hospital, Cavan County Home but mainly Belturbet) concerning permission to travel, the admission of postulants, the appointment of confessors, illness, the supply of newspapers to the sisters, holidays, permission to attend doctors, dentists and other matters, 1938-1941.
