Description

Presentation Sisters:
Letter of Mrs B. Moran addressed to Most Reverend Dr Curtis [Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, 1819-1832], - 'With most profound respect I received your Grace's paternal letter. With filial confidence I beg Your Grace will pardon my delay in replying to the subject of it; I have read it for the Professed Sisters - we each have the sincerest and most ardent wish of conforming to whatever could give Your Grace pleasure'. She considers that Sister Gernon should undergo the full period of probation. Sister Mary Jane's relatives are unable to give her the required dowry for some time to come. `We remonstrated with her aunt and remarked to her that Your Grace was very desirous of it', 23 July 1831.
