Correspondence between de Valera and his supporters in the US concerning the formation of a new newspaper and other matters, includes a letter from Dorothy Macardle resigning from the Fianna Fáil National Executive saying `I could have nothing to do with asking Irish men and women to take that oath and I could not vote for them to take it in my name', 29 August 1927.
